A prayer for vocations

O God, who chose the Apostles
to make disciples of all nations,
and who by Baptism and Confirmation
has called us to build up Your Holy Church,
we implore You to choose from among us, your children,
many priests and religious who will love You
with their whole hearts and will gladly spend their lives
to make You better known and loved by all.
Through Christ Our Lord,
Amen.

A prayer for seminarians

Jesus, we thank you for the great gift of your priesthood in the Church. We pray for all priests and those in formation for the priesthood. Form their hearts to be more like your own, the Heart of the Good Shepherd who lays down his life for the sheep. Draw them to your Heart, and bless them with courage and zeal as they serve you and your people. Give them great joy as they proclaim the Good News of your Resurrection, wisdom and trust as they discern your will.

We ask this with great confidence in you. Amen.

Sunday—Risen Lord, fill us with your Holy Spirit, that we may trust that following the will of the Father always leads us to fullness of life, in this world and in the world to come. Amen.

Monday—Lord God, in baptism you called us by name to be your faithful followers. Inspire all your children to listen for your voice each day, that together we may build your Kingdom on earth. Amen.

Tuesday—God our Father, you willed that the love of husband and wife should reflect your love for your people. Deepen the love of married couples, and help parents to guide their children in the ways of faith and love. Amen.

Wednesday—Lord, may those who have consecrated themselves to you in religious vows and in single life be filled with your love, and ready to serve their brothers and sisters according to your will. Amen.

Thursday—Lord Jesus, at your Last Supper you gave us the most precious gift of the Eucharist. Raise up priests to offer themselves in union with you, to teach, sanctify and shepherd your people with faith and humility. Amen.

Friday—Lord Jesus, by your sacrifice on the cross you have given us fullness of life. May we take up our cross and follow you wherever you lead us, emptying ourselves for you and for others. Amen.

Saturday—Mary, Mother of God and Mother of the Church: pray for us that we may say an ever deeper “yes” to the Father’s will in our lives, and so bring Christ into the world of our time. Amen.
